Vail Valley Partnership gala celebrates business success
Its time again for the annual Vail Valley Partnership Success Awards Gala. The sixth annual event is Friday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch and will celebrate the achievements of the top businesses in the Valley in 2008. The Hazel Miller Band will provide the music for the black-tie affair. This years theme is Apres Ski Ball, and is sponsored by 1st Bank, Alpine Bank, Beaver Creek Resort Company, Coors, Denver Newspaper Agency, East West Partners, Pinnacol Assurance, Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch and the Vail Daily. The focus of the evening is to present awards that recognize superior achievement in five categories. The finalists are: Nonprofit of the Year: Vail Symposium, Gore Range Natural Science School and the Vail Valley Charitable Fund. Small Business of the Year: Eagle-Vail Animal Hospital, Mountain & Meadows Weddings and Events and Columbine Bakery. Business of the Year: La Tour, Vail Mountain Coffee and Tea and Evans Chaffee Construction Group. Green Business of the Year: The Antlers, The Resort Company and Natural Cleaners. Entrepreneur of the Year: Dr. Thomas Palic, of Applied Kinesiology, Jennifer Law and Melissa McLoota, of HR Link and Michele Evans, of the Evans Chaffee Construction Group. In voting that took place prior to the event, the Vail Valley Charitable Fund was selected as the winner in the Nonprofit of the Year Category. That means the organization will receive a portion of the event and silent auction proceeds.
