Vail Valley Partnership sponsors educational programs

The Vail Valley Partnership has some educational programs on the calendar. • The first “Big Green THINK” will be held Sept. 28 at The Arrabelle at Vail Square from 1 – 5:30 p.m. This is an educational event and business expo which seeks to inspire and connect hoteliers, restaurateurs, caterers and venues with sustainability. Keynote speakers include Glenn Hasek from the Lodging News and Richard Young from the Food Service Technology Center. Panelists include Mark Fischer, Six89 Restaurant & Phat Thai; Brook LaVan, Sustainable Settings; Shelly McCandless, Eat Greener Denver, John Gitchell, Sustainable Business Solutions, Jeffrey Burrell, The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa; and Melissa McLoota, Sonnenalp Resort of Vail.Expo booths are going fast and are $150. Individual tickets for Partnership and Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability members are $25. Tickets are $30 at the door. For more informaiton, e-mail jweintraub@visitvailvalley.com.The Vail Valley chapter of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International will host an educational program and luncheon with the Partnership Sept. 22 at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort & Spa. There will be a panel discussion regarding “The New American Traveler: Insights and Implications for Marketing Vail in the Year Ahead”. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and a speaker panel from noon – 2 p.m. featuring Adam Sutner from Vail Mountain, John Dawsey from Colorado Mountain Express and Patricia McNamara from the Sonnenalp Resort of Vail.
