Vail Valley Realtor celebrates 25 years with Prudential

Larry Agneberg this month celebrated his 25th anniversary working with Prudential Colorado Properties in the company’s Lionshead office in Vail.

Agneberg started working with John Slevin, owner/broker of Prudential, 1983 when the company was called Gore Range Properties. The company later became affiliated with Better Homes and Gardens and in 1990 became an affiliate of The Prudential Real Estate network. Prior to 1983, Larry worked two years with Canada’s of Colorado, another Lionshead real estate company at the time.

Agneberg was born and raised in North Dakota and came to Vail in 1974. After successful ventures in wholesaling (jewelry) and retail (a health food store which continues as Nature’s Providers in Avon), he started in the real estate business.

“It was not a great time to start in the business but I did not know any better,” Agneberg said. “I was not used to the good times of the late 1970’s and early 1980’so I just had to start in the business from the ground up and fight to survive. I figured it was a great time to learn and be ready for the next boom, which it was.”

Agneberg credits his 25 years in the same office to Slevin. “John is probably the best managing broker of any real estate company in the entire Vail Valley,” Agneberg, said. “He has always been on the leading edge of implementing technology for business and real estate. That technology push continues today with John’s son, Michael, now the company Vice-President”
