Vail Valley Roxy stores have ‘Gifts that Give Back’ this weekend

The Roxy stores in Denver and Vail are unveling a new project: “Gifts that Give Back.” the event is Dec. 11 in Denver and Dec. 12 in Vail.
The event will feature vendors that give a portion of their proceeds back to various charities, including Eagle-based Be Good to People. Other featured items come from Tom’s Shoes, Zulugrass bracelets, Annie O. belts, Michael Stars Breast Cancer tees, and Blabla knit dolls. Necklaces for Cure International will be available, too. Profits from that project benefit a clinic in Honduras that local doctors Kent Petrie and Steve Yarberry support.
“It’s the time of year when giving is important,” Roxy owner Patty Weinstein said. “These manufacturers take a portion of their profits and give it back to worthy causes. It’s a cool thing to do.”
Besides Necklaces for Cure International, Tom’s Shoes donates one pair of shoes to a needy child for every pair a retailer buys. Be Good To People will donate 5 percent of its Roxy sales during the event to the Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group.
“These dollars add up,” Weinstein said. “These are gifts with a little more meaning.”
In conjunction with this event, Roxy will also present its annual Michael Stars trunk show. Visitors can have refreshments while shopping a selection of special merchandise brought in for the event. Customers will receive 20 percent off all Michael Stars purchases and can be entered in a drawing to win one of many prizes. The first 20 people with receive a gift with purchase.
Be Good to People purchases of $50 or more will receive a free Jumbo Reusable Shopping Tote. Roxy purchases of $100 or more will also receive a shopping tote. For more information, call the store at 970-476-7774.
