What is the organization’s mission and who benefits from its work:

Second Chance with Saving Grace is a non-profit 501c(3) organization whose mission is to help hurting people and animals. We are touching the world by visiting schools, churches, children in hospitals, prisoners and civic organizations with our message of hope and encouragement and by shipping Love Kits to anyone suffering in any way.

We recently visited The Denver Children’s Hospital for story time and gave away over 50 Love Kits to hurting patients and their families.

Where does your funding come from?

Donations and sponsorships (we are currently looking for grant writers), and 100 percent of the funds from the sale of Gracie merchandise go toward our outreach work. “Love Kits” are for sale or for sponsor, but are always available free of charge to any children or adults in need.

Paul and Diane Dike put their life’s savings into starting, supporting and continuing the work of Second Chance with Saving Grace. Diane’s life dream is to help as many hurting people and animals as she can for as long as she is able. It’s the passion that wakes her up in the morning and leads her to peaceful waters as she drifts off to sleep each night.

How many staff members work for you?

We have an all-volunteer staff, including Paul and Diane Dike, Ph.D. (and Gracie. if dogs count), Christy Lippert, and Jodi and Craig Grasso.

Anything else you’d like the community to know about the organization?

Diane is a sought-after inspirational speaker, teacher and singer who has a positive impact on the lives of everyone she meets. She is the author of “The Adventures of Gracie and Diane” book series, for children and animal lovers of all ages, and has recently released her autobiography “God Made Only One of Me.”

Diane suffers from an incurable rare blood disease, yet accompanied by the world’s first rescued Italian greyhound service dog, she is able to more safely participate in everyday life activities most of us take for granted. Despite her overwhelming challenges, her passion is to continue to share her message of hope and encouragement for as long as she can.

Second Chance with Saving Grace welcomes anyone interested in sharing their gifts and talents to participate in this wonderful outreach work. If you’d like to join our team, sponsor Love Kits or know of someone in need, e-mail christylippert@msn.com.
