The clubs participants range in age and ability from 5 to 6 years old and just starting out, to high school-age athletes attending the Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy, to alumni competing at the collegiate level as well as with the U.S. Ski Team, including current Overall World Cup Champion Lindsey Vonn. Where does your funding come from? Sixty-five percent of the clubs funding comes from program fees, while the remaining is from fundraising. Annual scholarship awards, which total more than $75,000, support 20 percent of the clubs members who otherwise may be unable to participate in snowsports. How many staff members work for you? We have 14 year-round employees and 75 during the winter. Anything else you’d like the community to know about the organization?As one of Vail’s oldest nonprofit organizations, the club provides competition ski and snowboard programs to more than 425 youth in alpine and nordic racing, freestyle and freeride skiing, and snowboarding.
