What is the organization’s mission and who benefits from its work?

Wild West Day is a fundraiser held at 4 Eagle Ranch, Sept. 27. The fundraiser benefits the nine public elementary schools in Eagle County. It is our mission to provide families a fun day filled with activities, games and entertainment while raising money for the schools. Teachers and principals use the money raised for books, author visits, equipment, art supplies and field trips. The money helps bridge the gap when state funding falls short.

Where does your funding come from?

We ask for donations from the community. This year there will be an online auction. We also have a silent auction, bake sale and a small admission to the event. There is also a wine tasting event for the adults on Sept. 24.

How many staff members work for you?

Wild West Day is completely run by volunteers. In the course of the year there will be more than 560 volunteers working for Wild West Day.

Anything else you’d like the community to know about the organization?

Wild West Day is unique because all nine public elementary schools work together to raise as much money as possible, while also joining together for a fun community event. More than 4,000 people attended the event last year. We ask the business community for a yearly donation and sign a contract saying we will not ask again during the year. This is an event families do not want to miss!
