Vail Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL VALLEY, Colorado ” A Vail Valley, Colorado group known as the Eagle County Taxpayers for Common Sense is in the process of changing its name after a Washington D.C.-based group threatened to sue them.

The D.C. group is called Taxpayers for Common Sense and recently sent a letter to the Eagle County organization threatening a lawsuit if their name wasn’t changed.

The group decided it would change its name, said Dick Froberg, the organization’s treasurer.

“We’ve got some ideas but didn’t like any of them,” Froberg said.

The members will meet next week and could decide what new name to use then, Froberg. The group is also in the process of planning a public meeting in July to discuss property taxes and the latest property valuations by the county.

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

“We’re just kind of reviewing the situation,” said Marshall Gordon, a member of the group.
