Vail Valley title company, real estate community, launch food drive
Vail, CO, Colorado
Given the current state of the economy, need at all Colorado food banks is at an all-time high. The local offices of Land Title Guarantee Company and the real estate community in the Vail Valley are starting a food bank drive to help local families in need.
To date, Land Title and the real estate community in Eagle County have collected more than 1,150 pounds of food for the Vail Valley Salvation Army. Collection efforts will continue through December.
“As part of our commitment to our ‘Buy Local – Give Back’ initiative, Land Title offices will collect for and encourage our clients, customers and business partners to donate to food banks in Eagle County,” said Gail Ferry, Land Title vice president and branch manager.
Local food banks are now experiencing four times more people walking through their doors for food assistance than last year. For every $1 donated, food banks can provide on average four meals or more than five pounds of food. This year, 50 percent of those needing assistance are families with children under age 18 living at home.
“Community involvement is our corporate culture. In the past 10 years, Land Title and its principals have donated time and resources to more than 1,500 charities and events. Our food drive presents this side of our culture to the community and we’re partnering with our clients to make a difference,” Ferry said.
