Vail Valley: Victim ID’d in fatal crash near Edwards

The Colorado State Patrol released on Thursday the name of the driver killed in a fatal rollover accident near Edwards.

Keith Cleghorn, 49, of Glenwood Springs was pronounced dead at the scene on Tuesday, after he lost control of the dump truck he was driving.

According to the State Patrol, Cleghorn was traveling northbound on Squaw Creek Road, which is the access road to the Cordillera Resort, east of Edwards. The vehicle rolled onto its passenger side, then slid off the right side of the road into a group of trees.

The State Patrol said that the cab of the truck collapsed when the truck struck a group of trees, pinning Cleghorn inside the vehicle.

The Eagle County Coroner pronounced Cleghorn dead at the scene. Cleghorn was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, and the State Patrol reported that neither alcohol or drugs are suspected in the accident.
