Vail Valley Voices: Casino Night coming

Early County Early Childhood Programs
Vail, CO, Colorado

Casino Night 2011 is quickly approaching. The program directors of the 10 participating early childhood programs are working together to plan Casino Night.

They are Children’s Garden of Learning, Family Learning Center, Miller Ranch Child Care Center, Mountain Tots, Pooh Corner Preschool, Prater Lane Play School, Vail Child Care Center, Nurturing with Nature, The Bear’s Den Home Child Care and The Treehaus Early Learning Program.

We’re proud and excited to be working together on this 24th annual event. Eagle County Early Childhood Programs uses this event to bring our mission statement to the forefront in Eagle County.

We strive to: educate the public about quality programs; acknowledge the deficit in funds all programs experience when parents and public entities alone are paying for child care; and bring to light the diversity in family structures. “High quality early childhood programs provide children a good start in life and benefit all sectors of society, now and in the future.”

This year, we will focus on the fact that training and retaining a professional staff is one of the most difficult obstacles we encounter. Together, we must face the fact that child care is often undervalued and underfinanced in America.

We are reaching out to the community to help us raise funds to provide the best quality programs we can for our young children. Casino Night 2011 will take place on Friday, April 15, at Dobson Ice Arena from 7 to11 p.m.

Tickets are being sold at all 10 participating schools and also at various locations around the valley. The cost is only $20 — $25 at the door. This price includes $400 in gaming chips, DJ/dancing, cash bar and appetizers, silent auction, and 40-plus gaming tables!

Door prizes will be given out to participants all evening. New this year is a raffle (need not be present to win).

Please call any of the schools to donate silent auction items or to purchase tickets. We are urging you to please give generously to help our littlest citizens of Eagle County, who are our most valuable resource.
