The Vail Valley’s Shaw Regional Cancer Center has announced that Joseph Deuschle has been named vice president.

“This is a very exciting time for Shaw Regional Cancer Center and the Vail Valley,” said Doris Kirchner, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Vail Valley Medical Center, which runs the cancer center. “Shaw is recognized as a leading cancer center in the country and Joe’s enthusiasm for our mission, vision and multi-disciplinary approach goes hand-in-glove with Shaw’s future.”

A Colorado native, Deuschle has more than 18 years of experience in the health care industry, 11 of which are in the area of cancer care.

“The vision of Shaw Regional Cancer Center and its commitment to patient-centered care is second to none,” Deuschle said. “This is a unique approach by comparison to many facilities. I’m thrilled about the ability of Shaw to deliver compassionate and collaborative patient care in a technologically superior environment.”

Deuschle added that the Shaw center will continue to be a state-of-the-art cancer center, so patients will never need to leave the high country for diagnosis or treatment.

“This is a beautiful place to receive care and recover,” Deuschle said. “Coupled with the state-of-the-art facility, our medical staff’s clinical expertise and an outreach team like no other, and all of this is in the Vail Valley.”
