Vail Vitality Center hosts special classes for National Yoga Month
VAIL — In celebration of National Yoga Month, the Vail Vitality Center is offering a variety of special classes throughout the month of September, in addition to regularly scheduled practices.
Saturday — End of Summer Outdoor Yoga Celebration: The season finale for Free Community Yoga in Vail, DJ Kirby joins local favorite Tara Goike for a down-tempo flow and live DJ beats on the Solaris lawn. The class is offered free of charge, and practitioners should bring a yoga mat or towel. The class runs from 9 to 10 a.m. in Vail Village.
Wednesday — Yoga, Beats & Brews: From 6 to 7:30 p.m., join Bonfire Dub’s Scotty Stoughton and Vail Vitality Center yoga director Julia Clarke for an evening of yoga and acoustic music, followed by a celebratory post-class beverage at Yeti’s Grind in Vail. The hour-and-a-half yoga session is a down-tempo practice fueled by the beat of Stoughton’s energizing drums and meditative guitar, designed to awaken individual creative power. Cost is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the class.
Friday, Sept. 25 — Restorative Yoga & Essential Oils: Experience true relaxation with reclining postures and meditations guided by Clarke and enhanced with the application of essential oils by master aroma therapist Lindsey Fernandez. Lie down, inhale and relax from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Vail Vitality Center’s Yoga Studio. No yoga experience necessary. Cost is $20 in advance or $25 the day of the class.
