Vail voter registration deadline is today

VAIL, Colorado -Monday is the deadline for voter registration for the Nov. 3 election. To be eligible to participate in Vail’s election, residents must be a U.S. citizen, be 18 years or age by Nov. 3, reside within the town of Vail boundaries no later than Oct. 4 and not claim the right to vote in another city or state. Voter registration forms are available from the Vail Town Clerk’s Office or at http://www.eaglecounty.us/clerk/register.cfm.
There are nine candidates running for four open seats in the Vail Town Council election. The ballot order has been set as follows:

• Michael Charles
• Susie Tjossem
• Scott Proper
• Kevin R. Foley
• Kerry Donovan
• Ludwig (Ludi) Kurz
• Kim Newbury
• Buddy Lazier
The four Town Council seats up for election are held by Mark Gordon, Farrow Hitt, Kevin Foley and Kim Newbury. The terms of the remaining council members, Dick Cleveland, Andy Daly and Margaret Rogers, run to November 2011.
Early voting begins Oct. 22 and runs to Oct. 30. Then, on Nov. 3, all voting will take place at the Town of Vail Municipal Building, 75 S. Frontage Road, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
