VAIL – Yoga students have the rare opportunity to explore backbends on a deeper level this Monday at The Yoga Studio at the Vail Athletic Club when Kelly Heath, founder of the studio, returns to Vail for a two-hour session. This intermediate-level workshop will emphasize both traditional and more adventurous backbends in a safe environment.”Backbends can be daunting for many people, but when we approach them with wisdom, they offer us a more revitalized nervous system, a way to dissolve energy blocks, and, literally, a way to a more open heart,” says Studio Coordinator Rachel Nelson. “A workshop atmosphere allows us to focus on entering and exiting backbends safely, so our students can avoid injury and have more confidence doing backbends in their personal practice.Heath founded the Yoga Studio in 2006, and relocated to Santa Barbara, Calif. last year.”Many of our students practiced with Kelly for years, so they know and trust that she can help guide them to a new place in their practice,” says Nelson. The Yoga Studio at the Vail Athletic Club is located within the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa, at 352 East Meadow Drive.
