Vail’s broomball league starts June 21

VAIL, Colorado – Play in Vail’s summer broomball league is Sunday evenings from June 21 to Aug. 23 at Dobson Ice Arena. Games will take place at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. with four versus four action.

Broomball is a mix between soccer and hockey. Vail’s league is for people 18 and older.

“We had great response from our winter league and how much everyone enjoyed having such a unique activity that was different from anything else they were participating in,” said Adam Turner of Dobson Ice Arena.

In broomball, no skates are allowed. Helmets are required and shin guards, elbow pads and mouth guards are recommended. Dobson provides brooms for the league. Homemade brooms must be approved by Dobson prior to use. Cost is $437.50 per team and includes 10 games throughout the season.
