VAIL -At Milan’s most recent Fashion Week in February, Luca Bruno caught a sneak peak of next year’s Les Copains 2013 Fall Collection. It was a remarkable combination of knitwear and sophisticated Italian style. On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Luca Bruno will present Les Copains Spring Collections with a special trunk show to showcase the fashion house and its classic creations. Today, Les Copains CEO Paolo Torello-Viera will be on hand to offer a greater insight into why Les Copains creativity is so well regarded in the fashion world.

The brand Les Copains was created in the late ’50s and takes its name from a popular French radio show, “Salut Les Copains.” Originally, known for its knit wear, the brand has evolved over the years and is recognized as one of the premier Italian fashion houses.

Luca Bruno began carrying Les Copains three years ago after the line was recommended to him by Vittorio Missoni in Milan over lunch. Missoni believed that the collection would compliment his family’s collection that was already represented at DUE Luca Bruno. Bruno was overwhelmed by the modern but classic clothing he saw on the runway.

“I remembered my mother wearing Les Copains, but was amazed at how the collection fused their tradition of knits with a modern aesthetic,” Bruno said.

The collection is now designed by Alessandro Dell’Acqua. Dell’Acqua originally worked with Gianni Versace and debuted his first pret-a-porter collection in Milan in 1996. He initially specialized in knitwear making his collaboration with Les Copains a dream partnership. It’s not unusual for the designer to mix luxe fabrics or hand finish his cashmere.

The collection has evolved over the years to include elegant gowns, casual classic dresses and pants and jackets. They emulate the perfect combination of modern elegance and tradition.

“Their clothing is both fashionable and sophisticated,” Bruno said. “You can wear their clothing to the office or to an evening out with friends.”

The trunk show at Luca Bruno in Solaris will offer pieces from the casual Blue Label as well as the Black Label and Runway Collections.
