Vail’s Sonnenalp Real Estate helps Salvation Army
Vail, CO, Colorado
VAIL ” During a recent weekly broker meeting, the Sonnenalp Real Estate team decided to forego the annual holiday party and help a good cause.
“When the call came from the Salvation Army, sharing with us some of the many families in need this holiday season, we knew we had to do something to help,”
Sonnenalp Real Estate President Joni White Taylor said. “Rather than just give from our wallets, we knew time and energy would make a world of difference.”
The Sonnenalp Real Estate brokers joined many other volunteers during the Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving and Christmas food drives to help package holiday dinners and then deliver them to the homes of families in need in Eagle County.
“In the playroom at one of our listings is a quote stenciled along the wall ” ‘To be of use in this world is the only way to be happy’ ” and I wanted to instill in my children that same value and to let them know that they too can make a difference at any age in the lives of someone else,” broker Tyra Rudrud said.
Sonnenalp Real Estate brokers also donate a portion of their commission to the charity of their client’s choice. Taylor encourages this philosophy among her brokers and lives by it as a volunteer board member for the Salvation Army and Vail’s Youth Foundation.
The Vail Salvation Army was organized as ” and remains ” a self-sufficient unit providing funding for its programs and activities without the financial assistance of national or regional chapters.
