Vail’s weekly bear report

VAIL, Colorado ” Here is the weekly bear report from the Vail Police Department:

– June 22, 1300 block of Westhaven Drive (Cascade). “Caller reported seeing a bear at the loading dock area, pushing on a broken door. Upon officer’s arrival, the bear was gone.”

– June 22, 1300 block of Westhaven Drive (Cascade). “Caller stated that possibly the same bear as previously reported was back at the loading dock area.”

– June 26, 4200 block of Columbine Drive (East Vail). “Caller reported seeing a bear running through her yard.”

– June 28, 5000 block of Main Gore Place (East Vail). “Caller reported seeing a bear getting into the enclosed Dumpster. The bear then got out and walked around the front of the building.”

– June 30, 100 block of West Meadow Drive (Lionshead). “Bear was reported heading westbound on the bike path by the library. Another party called in to say they saw the bear on Beaver Dam Road. The reporting party’s dog chased the bear off, but bear was still in area. The bear sightings were also called in from the Lionshead area and walking west along the creek at the Eagle Bahn, heading down to the creek behind Lions Square Lodge. The bear proceeded to the loading dock at the Montaneros. The bear finally headed west on South Frontage Road curve.”

– June 30, 600 block of Lionshead Circle. “Caller reported seeing the same bear, as previously reported, in front of Moe’s Barbecue.”
