Valley’s haze caused by humidity, fires
EAGLE COUNTY ” Smoky skies in the area over the past two days are being caused by humidity and fires in Idaho and Montana, authorities said.
The haze could worsen Tuesday night, authorities said.
“To the best of my knowledge, it’s a combination of smoke from fires in Idaho and Montana and high humidity,” said Barry Smith, Eagle County’s emergency manager.
Smith said he was not aware of any fires in Colorado that would create this amount of haze.
Ray Merry, Eagle County environmental health director, said he also believes wildfires in other states are contributing to the haze.
“A lot of the western United States is experiencing these wildfires,” Merry said.
