Victims in Denver airport taxi crash were Conn. librarians
DENVER, Colorado ” Two women killed in a suspected hit-and-run accident en route to the Denver airport have been identified as librarians from Connecticut.
The coroner’s office said Thursday the dead were 54-year-old Kathy Krasniewicz and 71-year-old Kate McClelland, both of Riverside, Conn.
Perrot Memorial Library Director Kevin McCarthy told the Greenwich Time that Krasniewicz was head of youth services. He said McClelland had retired from the library but still served as a children’s storyteller. They had attended a convention in Denver.
Police say the women were thrown from the cab on Wednesday after it was hit by a pickup that left the scene. The taxi driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested 40-year-old Sandra Lee Jacobson on suspicion of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
