BEAVER CREEK – The box office at the Vilar Center for the Arts opens for business Monday, selling tickets for the entire winter season.Season highlights include a performance by Irish legends The Chieftains, a night of comedy with “The Last Comic Standing” Josh Blue, the Paul Taylor Dance Company and a performance by Grammy winning bluesman Keb’ Mo.’

In a special locals pricing deal, the Vilar Center is offering ticket buyers their sixth show free when they purchase tickets to five winter performances by Dec. 22. “Each year we offer the locals pricing to encourage our audience to plan their whole winter of entertainment and buy tickets early,” said the Vilar Center’s Kris Sable. “As we all know, one of the best features of the Vilar Center is its intimate size, so being among the first ticket buyers has its advantages. You can get so close to the stage, in some cases, it’s really exceptional.”

The winter season kicks off with a return acoustic performance by one-time local and multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter Edwin McCain Nov. 30. Tickets are currently on sale for this performance, which features McCain collaborating onstage with Nashville heavy-hitter and renowned songwriter Maia Sharp. The concert is presented in collaboration with the World Cup Downhill Bib Presentation and Celebration, which kicks off on Beaver Creek Plaza at 5 p.m.The box office is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, call the box office at 845-TIXS.
