VAIL VALLEY, Colorado –Police responded to a call on May 12 that a man had tried to break into a 47-year-old woman’s trailer home at Eagle River Village in Edwards while she was inside.

The woman told police a man started banging on her door and jiggling the knob. After about 20 minutes he jiggled the knob enough to break it and the door frame. He ran away when he opened the door and saw her on the phone.

Then he returned while she was still on the phone with her daughter. At that point, she locked the door and he started pounding on the windows and side of the trailer before driving off in a newer, gold-colored four-door car.

The woman described the man as a light-skinned Hispanic in his 30s. He was tall with a medium build. He had short, dark hair and a thin beard. Both his ears were pierced, with small, silver hoop earrings. He was wearing a jacket or sweater with paint splatter on it and a white baseball cap.

During the interview, other neighbors told police they had been harassed by the same man. One person said the man spoke very harsh Spanish.

The case is closed due to a lack of leads.
