Volunteers needed for New Year’s party
VAIL – Y05 is Vail’s New Year’s Eve event for youth from high school to age 20. Nearly 700 people are expected at Dobson Arena for dancing, a light and video show, over $15,000 in raffle prizes, casino games and activities like the bungee trampolines, extreme tricycling and sumo wrestling.Vail Resorts, the town of Vail, Eagle County and many other sponsors are joining the Vail Recreation District to finance the event and prize raffle. In addition, 75 adult volunteers (over age 21) are needed to adequately staff the event. Volunteers get pizza, subs and salad, and are trained and entered in the volunteer prize raffle. Parking is free in the Lionshead garage. Volunteers are needed from 6 p.m., Friday, until 12:30 a.m., Saturday, at Dobson Arena in Lionshead.The event runs from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m., but volunteers should arrive at 6 p.m. to eat and learn their positions.
