VAIL – Vail Resorts has closed on the $10.5 million purchase of four slopeside, single-family home sites at Forest Place in Lionshead. Forest Place is one of three projects the company has underway, with several more to come, in Vail Village and Lionshead Village. They’re all part of the company’s $500 million New Dawn redevelopment effort.”We couldn’t be more thrilled with the momentum that Vail Resorts Development Company has generated for our ambitious Vail’s New Dawn effort,” said Adam Aron, chief executive of Vail Resorts. “With the closing of the Forest Place home sites for $10.5 million, current sales of 11 Gore Creek Townhomes for $43.8 million, and sales of more than 100 parking spaces in a new underground structure in Vail Village for more than $10.5 million, we’re off to a tremendous start on this exciting redevelopment of Vail,” The Forest Place home sites, each more than one-half acre in size, are located at the bottom of the Simba ski run and just west of the Eagle Bahn Gondola and offer ski-in, ski-out access. The site was used for four tennis courts, which remained unused for many years. Construction on the home sites is expected to begin this fall.Vail Colorado
