Walk to end hunger to be held May 1 in Eagle

EAGLE , Colorado- On May 1, Eagle County residents can help end hunger in our community.
Starting at 2 p.m., County Commissioner Jon Stavney will kick off the first annual Eagle County CROP Hunger Walk in Eagle.
Walkers can participate in either a noncompetitive 1-kilometer or 5-kilometer walk along the paths of Eagle Ranch, ending back at the Dusty Boot in Eagle, where a celebration party will take place. The Dusty Boot will provide a 10 percent donation of all food purchases to the CROP Walk.
A pre-party is planned at the Grand Avenue Grill in Eagle on April 29 from 5-10 p.m. with music by the Great Divide Band. Grand Avenue Grill will also donate 10 percent of food sales to the CROP Walk.

This first annual event in sponsored by the Salvation Army and the Church World Service to help raise money and stop hunger and poverty.
Of funds raised by Eagle County CROP Walkers, 25 percent of the proceeds will go the Eagle County Food Pantries while the remainder will help aid starving people throughout the world.
