Warm-weather fashion

The wind chill reading might not reflect it, but it’s not too soon to start thinking about spring and summer fashion. If nothing else, it’ll give you something to fantasize about while you trudge outside in your snow jacket.

Patti Weinstein, owner of Roxy clothing stores in Vail, Beaver Creek and Denver, offers a sneak peak into what styles we’ll be seeing once the thermometer creeps up a little.

“I was looking at summer, and the colors are starting to turn bright, bright, very bright,” she says. “I saw a little bit of neon going forward for summer ” which is a little scary, because I’ve been there before.”

Knee-length shorts are back this year, Weinstein says, taking the place of skirts.

(Mossimo Bermuda shorts, $14.99)

“It’s still about little dresses,” Weinstein says, especially jumper styles and sun dresses.

(Juicy Couture dress, $178)

Though the market is showing a lot of colored denim, valley women tend to stick to their “tried-and-true blues,” Weinstein says.

This season, in-style denim will be bleached to a lighter shade.

Gray, which was once “the new black,” will fade from popularity, restricted to accents of heather gray mixed with brighter colors, she says.
