Watch Glenwood Springs whitewater wave with webcams
Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Internet viewers can now check out the real-time action at Glenwood Spring, Colorados’ whitewater park whenever they wish.
With help from local webcam guru Thomas DeVito, the city of Glenwood Springs and the Glenwood Chamber Resort Association spearheaded an effort to focus three video camera shots on the whitewater park, located on the Colorado River in West Glenwood.
The cameras are linked to the city’s official website, http://www.cogs.us, offering a continuous view of the wave riders in action. On the home page, just click on the purple, green or red paddler icons to get a real-time view of the whitewater park
“The live shots of the kayakers in action are a lot of fun to check out,” said Bruce Monroe, director of information systems for the city of Glenwood.
“It was a good partnership with Tom and the Chamber that will be a real benefit to Glenwood and get the kayaking community excited about the upcoming time trials competition,” he said.
Glenwood hosts the U.S. Team Trials freestyle kayaking competition May 30-31 at the whitewater park.
“We wanted to get the cameras up and operating in advance of the time trials,” Monroe said.
DeVito also developed a website called ColoradoWebCam.net, which provides web-linked camera shots at various points around the Roaring Fork Valley and along the Interstate 70 corridor.
