VAIL — Work begins Tuesday to improve the water main feeding a storage tank north of Garmisch Drive in Vail. Eagle River Water & Sanitation District expects work to finish by July 12.
Work will be confined to the north shoulder of the road, through adjacent private property and within the water tank property. No water service outages are planned.
The project will improve the control of water flow into and out of the West Vail storage tank, which delivers water to area properties and provides emergency fire storage for the Garmisch Drive area.
Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. At times, the work will restrict one lane on Garmisch Drive, during which traffic control measures will be in place. The construction area will be fenced at all times.
