VAIL VALLEY, Colorado –Vail Christian High School will host a Watercolor Workshop featuring Arizona artist Kathie Neal on July 9, 10, and 11 in Edwards, Colorado. Neal will teach a variety of techniques from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost for the three-day workshop is $195.
Neal has taught in Arizona for the last 15 years and hosted workshops all over the United States This year’s workshop will feature a new technique that has the look of a batik. Done on masa paper and mounted on a gallery wrap canvas, the result is dramatic and can be done by an artist at any level from beginning to advanced.
On the second day, Neal will teach a mixed media class using watercolor, India ink and white tempera resulting in a bold painting of vivid contrasts. The third day you will learn to paint shimmering aspens that almost appear three dimensional.
“I view the world with a child like sense of awe and wonder, focusing on what is beautiful and I thrive on sharing that beauty with others and helping them share their personal vision through their paintings,” says Neal.
