Wedding band bandit grabs rings from Colorado store
GOLDEN, Colorado – Investigators say a man told a Colorado jewelry store clerk he was getting married in Las Vegas, asked to see two wedding rings and then ran out the door with both without paying.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department said Friday that one ring taken in the June 5 robbery was gold and the other was platinum, and each had a 1-carat diamond. Their value wasn’t released.
Investigators say a man with a similar appearance used the same ploy to rob another jewelry store on May 31, but it wasn’t immediately clear how much jewelry was taken there.
A survey showed a good bit of support for local government action to bolster workforce housing in town. For now though, that support stops at supporting a new tax for funding.
