Wednesday is Colorado Bike to Work Day

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – Wednesday is Colorado Bike to Work Day, and local residents are encouraged to ride a bike or walk to work.

The ECO Trails Committee, along with local bike shops and businesses, are supporting this statewide event by rewarding citizens who choose to use bicycling or walking to travel to their workplace.

Volunteers will be hosting rest stops between 7 and 9 a.m. at Mayor’s Park in Vail, at the Malin pedestrian bridge in Dowd Junction, at the Avon Highway 6 roundabout, at Edwards Highway 6 intersection, Mountain Pedaler in Eagle and on Highway 6 in Gypsum. Visitors to the rest stops will be offered refreshments as well as free giveaways for making the effort to ride or walk to work.

Sponsors, donors and volunteers include the ECO Trails Committee, Pedal Power, Loaded Joe’s, Sonnenalp of Vail, Vail Recreation District, Westside Cafe, Columbine Market, Town of Gypsum, Mountain Pedaler, Red Canyon Cafe, City Market, Village Market, Starbucks Edwards, The Kind, Moontime Cyclery, Eagle County Road and Bridge, Colorado Department of Transportation and Vail Resorts.
