Weeds to be sprayed in Vail
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – The town of Vail will continue a campaign to combat undesirable plant species when work gets under way next week with a third round of herbicide application occurring Monday through Thursday.
The fall application will target yellow toadflax and Canada thistle as well as biennial thistle rosettes. Herbicide applications are timed with specific plant growing cycles to ensure effectiveness. Signs will be placed in herbicide treatment areas at least 24 hours in advance. People and pets should not walk into treatment areas until they have dried and the town has removed the signs. Those wishing personal notification of the herbicide applications can call 479-2337 or e-mail email@example.com.
The town is responsible for combating noxious weeds on over 250 acres of open space, along 32 miles of residential roadways, 11 miles of frontage road areas, 12 miles of recreation paths and in natural areas of Vail’s parks. In addition to spraying, the town’s treatment plan includes hand-pulling and cutting.
