Weekly construction meetings resume Tuesday in Vail

VAIL, Colorado – After a nine-week summer break, the town of Vail will resume its weekly construction meetings Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Vail Public Library community room. The updates continue each Tuesday through Nov. 17. Information about ongoing and upcoming projects will provided. Residents also can express any problems or concerns they have. Neighborhood representatives and contractors are encouraged to attend. Here are a list of projects:Vail Village• Ramshorn redevelopment, 416 Vail Valley Dr. Includes utility work and street cut excavation on Vail Valley Drive. Contractor, G.E. Johnson Construction. • Solaris development, 143 East Meadow Dr. Work within right-of-way pending. Contractor, The Weitz Company, Inc. • Four Seasons development, 1 Vail Road. There will be South Frontage Road improvements to include milling of asphalt from Main Vail roundabout to Vail Municipal Building parking lot, new curb and gutter, new heated sidewalk, new median island with landscaping. On West Meadow Drive, new heated sidewalk from Mayors Park to Four Seasons west property boundary. Contractor, Hyder Construction, Inc. • Mill Creek Court Building remodel (windows), 302 Gore Creek Dr. Minor project, staging of trash and delivery trucks on Gore Creek Drive. Contractor, George Shaeffer Construction. • Vail Village Inn, Filling 3, 100 East Meadow Dr. New heated paver walkway. Contractor, TBA. • Checkpoint Charlie rebuild/streetscape, Gore Creek Dr. Includes construction of new Checkpoint Charlie building and heated streetscape improvements from the intersection of Vail Road/ Willow Road to the north side of Checkpoint Charlie. Contractor, Hyder Construction. • Covered Bridge Pocket Park restoration, Lower Bridge Street west of Covered Bridge on south side. Streambank/turf and utility (Comcast) improvements. Contractor, Town of Vail. • Rucksack Building redevelopment (roof), 288 Bridge St. Remove and repair roofing of existing residential units. Pending access approval. Contractor, Highland Builders Corporation. • Bell Tower Building third floor remodel, 201 Gore Creek Dr. Crane scheduled for Aug. 31 on Gore Creek Drive.. This project is scheduled to be completed by mid-September. Contractor, Beck Building Company. Lionshead• Dobson Ice Arena Roof Project, 321 East Lionshead Circle. Completion scheduled for mid-November. Contractor, Roofmasters Roofing & Sheet Metal Co, Inc. • Landmark redevelopment, 612 West Lionshead Circle. New heated paver walkway on West Lionshead Circle. Contractor, Alter Design Builders LLC. • Arrabelle at Vail Square, 675 Lionshead Pl. Removal and installation of roof on the four buildings. The Lionshead Mall area will be impacted until Nov. 16. Contractor, The Roofing Company. • Vail Resorts new commercial building (public restrooms adjacent to Chair 8), 560 East Lionshead Circle. Contractor, McBoyd Builders, Inc. • Lionsquare Lodge North redevelopment. Demo of Lionshead Place north sidewalk, lower driveway grading and paving. Delivery of furniture to existing units scheduled for Sept. 14-19 and again in Mid-October. Contractor, J.L. Viele. • Ritz-Carlton Residences, 728 West Lionshead Circle. Removal of tower cranes. Contractor, PCL Construction Services, Inc. Outlying• CDOT excavation and boring at mile marker 177. Installation of new variable message sign along the South Frontage Road near the pedestrian overpass bridge. Contractor, Sturgeon Electric. • Eagle River Water & Sanitation District completion of utility work on Lupine/Columbine Drive (Long’s Excavation), Meadow Lane, Larkspur Lane, Larkspur Court (Heyl Construction) and Vail View Drive (WSU). • New snowcat access road, 890 South Frontage Rd. W. Contractor, Vail Resorts (Vail Corp). • North Frontage Road recreation path improvements from Roost Lodge to Timber Ridge. Contractor, B.& B. Excavating. • The fall construction projects are allowed to use the public right-of-way from Sept. 8 to Nov. 15.
