Western rafting retreat for women slated for July 2-7

Daily staff report

COLORADO AND UTAH — A river is often a metaphor for life, and this is what the “River Wisdom retreat” through Women’s Empowerment Workshop and True Life Coaching & Retreats encompasses. During this week-long trip of adventure and deepening, July 2-7, along the Green River in Utah and Colorado, women will learn the ancient wisdom of the river and how to apply it to their own lives to embrace change in a fearless, positive and authentic way.

Like all Women’s Empowerment Workshop offerings, River Wisdom emphasizes the inner and outer adventure. Expert, professional river guides will lead the boating while certified life coaches Susie Kincade of Women’s Empowerment Workshop and Victoria FittsMilgrim of True Life Coaching & Retreats guide participants’ inner journeys.

Take Charge of Your Life

The 44-mile white water rafting trip begins at the Gates of Lodore located in Dinosaur National Monument on the Green River. The group will travel through exhilarating white water rapids as well as still waters that glide past 800-foot-high canyon walls. In calmer waters, participants will have the opportunity to jump into their own inflatable kayak and learn how to captain their own boat.

“This is a powerful metaphor for being in charge of your own life,” Kincade said.

“As we journey down this desert wilderness gem, exploring the currents and canyons, women will experience fun, adventure, beauty and support as they discover the Wisdom of the River and the power of their authentic self to navigate life’s changes,” Kincade said.

The six-day retreat includes:

Two nights and two breakfasts at The Best Western Antlers in Vernal, Utah.

Four days and three nights on the river.

Transportation to and from Vernal to the river.

Professional river guides.

Two certified retreat coach leaders.

All coaching materials and activities.
