EAGLE COUNTY – There will be some new faces in the Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District lineup for 2005. The recreation district has added three full-time employees to help it manage sports and recreation in western Eagle County. Coming on board are Jeff Dallmann and Pat O’Connor, who have worked in part-time for the rec district’s maintenance department for the past four years.

“These two guys have been doing a great job for us for years on a seasonal basis,” the rec district’s director, Steve Russell, said. “Now we can have their services year-round. Pat will continue to focus on the recreation complex, and whatever else comes up. He can really do it all. “Jeff will be our main guy at the ice rink for maintenance to help keep that facility where it needs to be.”The move anticipates of the opening of the Gypsum Rec Center next year, which will be staffed by the rec district, Russell said.

“We knew our recreation staff was going to have to grow,” said Russell. The third new hire is Beth Reilly. She joins the district after more than three years as director of the Eagle River Youth Coalition. Her duties will include bringing Edwards and Dotsero residents into the district.”I think she saw what was happening here and wanted an opportunity to be a part of it. Beth has a masters in public health, speaks Spanish fluently, and skied for the University of Minnesota,” Russell said.

Reilly, a 21-year valley resident, said she thinks she will be a nice fit.”I am excited to work in recreation,” said Reilly. These new employees will help the rec district “expand geographically, and demographically in 2005,” a goal for this year set by the board of directors and staff, Russell said.Vail, Colorado
