AVON — The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain is excited to be hosting a special children’s story hour featuring a reading of “Eli & Mort’s Epic Adventures” by the local authors on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Created by Vail Valley locals Ken Nager and Elyssa Pallai, “Eli & Mort’s Epic Adventures: Beaver Creek” is the story of a little boy Eli and his best friend Mort, a stuffed moose, and their adventures during this February’s FIS World Ski Championships. They meet athletes, learn how to “catch huge air” and enjoy everything that Beaver Creek has to offer.
The book features illustrations created by more than 25 local Vail Valley children ages 7 to 17, with Eli and Mort professionally illustrated on each page.
The free reading will be held in front of the fireplace in The Westin Riverfront’s lobby, with complimentary hot chocolate and cookies served. A life-sized Mort mascot will also be joining the celebration.
Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event for $19.95 with a portion of all proceeds going to the Youth Foundation. For more information on Eli & Mort, visit eliandmort.com .
