Special to the DailyLocal legend Tony Bartelli was in Alaska not so long ago, and paid a visit to the Sign Post Forest, where he immortalized Vail in the Land of the Great White North by hanging this sign After the deed was done, Vail stood head and shoulders above everyone else, as it should be.

Lily Katherine Dewell was born at 8:51 p.m. at Vail Valley Medical Center on Dec. 21. She weighs in at 8 pounds and 11 ounces and her parents, Nicole and Andy Dewell, thank the truly amazing staff at VVMC for their incredible work. Lily was flown via Lear jet to Denver and admitted to Presbyterian-St. Luke’s hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where she’s receiving excellent care. Nicole and Andy thank all their friends in Eagle County for their prayers and good wishes. Big sister Caroline is receiving loving care in her own home from her amazing grandparents, Nick and Eileen Sordi. Mrs. Dewell wants her seventh-grade students at Eagle Valley Middle School to know that Lily is going to be just fine, so please don’t worry!
