What weighs almost 3,000 pounds and is red all over?
LIONSHEAD – The LEGO Volvo XC90 is on display at the Kidstruction Zone Children’s Museum in Lionshead for the 2006 winter season. The Kidstruction Zone is a construction-themed children’s museum encouraging curiosity, creativity and inventive play, according to Brian Hall of Blue Creek Productions, the company that created the area.
Built by LEGO master model builders – artists who design, create and maintain the thousands of LEGO brick models at LEGOLAND in California – there were 201,425 LEGO bricks used in construction. A team of three LEGO designers worked for three weeks to design the car, and it took an average of five LEGO model builders two months to build the actual vehicle “We are very excited to showcase such an amazing structure in the Vail Valley for all ages to enjoy,” Hall, president of Blue Creek Productions, said. “We look forward to seeing what the future holds.”
