What’s in your picnic basket for Vail’s Bravo?

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL, Colorado – If you have been to the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, chances are you have noticed many of the elaborate picnic spreads. Bringing a picnic and sitting on the lawn is a tradition for many Bravo! concert-goers, and as one person mentioned, “a chance to showcase your culinary talents.” Are you looking for ways to spice up your picnic basket? Three lawn pass holders dish on their favorite foods to bring to a Bravo! concert.

1. Nate Powell

“I’d bring a thermos of homemade elk chili with cheddar cheese and sourdough bread. It’s delicious, it’s got a little bit of chocolate and beer in it. I’d wash it down with some ice cold sparkling water with slices of fresh lemon and lime. I would also bring my Crazy Creek chair. I maybe would share this with my housemates.

2. Elli Gauthier

“I usually raid the fridge and create a salad from anything I can find. One of my favorites is day-old quinoa with spinach, feta cheese, leftover tuna salad and almonds and if I’m lucky some kale from the garden. Also, a nice Hershey’s milk chocolate bar with almonds, some refreshing H20 and my Bach on the Rocks Membership card!”

3. Irene Emma

“Typically I pack a Buffalo mozzarella, fresh tomato and basil sandwich in a ciabatta loaf, drizzled with a dash of extra-virgin olive oil. And for a European twist, I would pack cresaola, cornichons, and a wedge of gorgonzola primitivo. And of course a bottle of Pellegrino, glasses and fresh-cut limes.”
