The Vail Automotive Classic’s Wheels & Wings Festival and Auto Auction attracted an estimated 4,200-plus car and plane enthusiasts and vendors to the Vail Valley Jet Center on Saturday, Sept. 12, to view more than 200 cars, motorcycles and planes on display from New York, Florida, California, New Mexico, Arkansas, Texas and Colorado.

The auto auction sold two times the number of vehicles as the 2014 event, and the Live Local Lounge VIP Tent sold out through advance ticket sales. Sunday’s Vail Village Car Show attracted 60 cars and three motorcycles, which were displayed along Bridge Street and Meadow Drive, inviting passers-by to vote for their favorites.

A 1969 Jaguar XKE, owned by Mike Remirez of Westminster, won the People’s Choice Award for best car and a 1929 Henerson KJ, owned by John Weber of Denver, won People’s Choice Awards for best motorcycle.
