Wild fight for Eagle firefighters in California

EAGLE, Colorado ” Greater Eagle Fire Protection District firefighters Deputy Chief Chris Blankenship, Capt. Jeff William and Volunteer Firefighter Mark Currier spent time in July helping crews from across the country battle thousands of wildfires that broke out in California.

The local firefighters worked near Concow, Calif., which is about 130 miles northwest of Lake Tahoe. They returned July 13, with some invaluable experience should a wildfire ever break out in western Eagle County.
