Win an Eagle County house for $100
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – Buying a house in Eagle County is easy if you have a half mill burning a hole in your pocket.
Even if you only have $100 to spare, though, you could win a house through an upcoming raffle.
One lucky person will score a three-bedroom home in Eagle in The Bluffs neighborhood that has been appraised at $475,000.
Dr. Gary Weiss, an East Vail neurologist, and employees with his Next Step Institute of Integrative Medicine are organizing their first home raffle.
“We wanted to find a creative way to raise money for children’s charities,” Weiss said.
All proceeds will go toward Action for Children; Vail Performing Arts Academy; National Association for Children of Alcoholics; Unicef, Haiti; St. Labre Indian School/St. Paul’s Mission; Eagle Valley Religious Foundation and Holy Name of Jesus.
When you buy your ticket, you can choose which charity the money goes toward.
“All children deserve an equal chance for success in the world, and that’s really what we’re trying to provide for them,” Weiss said.
He hopes to raise anywhere from $100,000 to $500,000.
“Charitable giving is down because the economy is down,” Weiss said. “We thought this would be a fun way for people to be able to give to children’s charities and at the same time win something that could be pretty meaningful.”
