Window washer washes out

by Randy Wyrick

A man possibly posing as a window washer showed up uninvited at the family home of the alleged victim in the Kobe Bryant case.

According to an Eagle police suspicious person report, at about 10 a.m. July 29, the man showed up at the front door, offering to provide a cost estimate to wash the windows.

When he was told his services were not needed, he walked back up the street, not stopping at any of the other houses in the neighborhood.

The man is described as a white male, between 5-feet-8 and 5-feet-10, thin at 145 pounds, brown hair, an unkept beard, wearing cut off blue jeans at the knee, a dark T-shirt, a backpack slung over his shoulder and was carrying a large red bucket.

That incident came two days after the alleged victim received a telephone death threat from an Iowa City, Iowa man.

Federal authorities arrested John William Roche, 22, at his home Thursday for leaving a telephone message that he would kill the 19-year-old Eagle County woman.
