Wine tasting in Vail Village on Sunday
July 15, 2010
VAIL – The Marketplace on Meadow Drive Wine Shop will host a tasting featuring the 2007 Willamette Valley Riesling and the 2007 Amycus White Table wine from Brooks Winery this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m during the Vail Farmers’ Market.
“We have the unique opportunity to welcome Vail Farmers’ Market guests, locals and visitors alike to stop in and enjoy these fine wines and learn more about the wine making process and the history behind this well-praised Oregon vineyard,” said Court Fable, owner/operator of the Wine Shop at Marketplace on Meadow Drive.
Brooks Winery, located in Willamette, Ore., is committed to organics and focuses on producing their high quality wines without future impact on our world.
“Our approach to winemaking is simple. We seek natural balance in the vineyard and cellar, to show the true expression of terrior in our wines. We are passionate about organic and biodynamic farming, as we believe it not only creates better wines, but these important practices help keep our earth alive and ecosystem intact,” said Brooks Winery Managing Director Janie Brooks Heuck. “While we respect the individuality of each vineyard and its sense of place, we maintain the philosophy that the greatest depth, flavors and balance in a wine are achieved by blending. Our focus is to produce beautiful Riesling and pinot noir, both of which are perfectly suited to grow in the cool Willamette Valley climate. Most of all, we hope you enjoy our wines with good friends and family, with wonderful cuisine!”
Brooks Ara Riesling 2006 was poured at President Obama’s first state dinner on November 24, 2009. During the event, hosted on the White House lawn, the Riesling was featured with the meal’s second course.
The tasting is free and reservations are not required. Marketplace on Meadow Drive is located in Vail Village, at the corner of Meadow Drive and Willow Bridge Road, just west of the International Bridge. Free parking is located at the Vail Transportation Center. From the transportation center, head west on Meadow Drive. For more information, call 970-477-4370 or visit http://www.brookswine.com.
