Wine University returns to Vail’s Larkspur

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado
Special to the Daily/Dominique Taylor

VAIL, Colorado – Thursday will be the first class of Larkspur Restaurant’s third annual Wine University series. Kevin Furtado, sommelier, consultant and winemaker, began this program in 2008 as a way to offer wine education in a fun, casual and unpretentious setting. The series was an immediate hit with patrons across all demographics.

Wine University presents a variety of topics. There are often cooking demonstrations by Executive Chef Armando Navarro featuring dishes that pair well with the current week’s wine subject. Many times an importer, winemaker or retailer will be invited in as an expert guest speaker. Sometimes the class is a multi-course dinner or perhaps a vertical tasting of rare vintages.

Wine University classes start at 6:30 p.m. and space is limited. Call 970-754-8050 for reservations. For additional information about individual classes, e-mail
