Winter flight to Phoenix announced, begins Dec. 15
EAGLE COUNTY —The EGE Air Alliance, a nonprofit group that works to enhance commercial air service to the Eagle County Regional Airport, announced Friday that the organization has secured new winter service on American Airlines from Phoenix.
The non-stop flight will operate daily from Phoenix to Eagle County beginning Dec. 15; after starting out as seven-day service, flights drop to only Wednesday and Saturday on Jan. 9 and a Sunday flight gets added back on Feb. 19 through April 2.
“This is a great addition to our flight schedule in and out of Eagle,” EGE Air Alliance board chairman Mike Brown said. “Not only will it provide great connections from various cities in the southwest United States, it provides locals with a great opportunity to conveniently escape to the desert this winter.”
The northbound flight will depart Phoenix at approximately 1:15 p.m. with an arrival at Eagle County at 2:55 p.m. The flight to Phoenix will depart Eagle County at approximately 3:35 p.m. with arrival at 5:15 p.m. The flight will make connections to points across the southwest including San Diego, Orange County, Santa Barbara, Ontario and Long Beach.
American will operate the new Phoenix service with 70-seat dual class CRJ 700 aircraft. Each flight will offer six first-class seats and Wi-Fi.
