Vail, CO Colorado

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – The Winter Minturn Market will be held Saturday and Dec. 15 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the usual location of the Summer Minturn Market in downtown Minturn. The Winter Minturn Market will have carolers, live music, hot chocolate and cider, as well as roasted marshmallows and Santa for the kids.

“Our little Minturn, it’s a slice of Americana,” said Michelle Metteer, economic development coordinator for the town of Minturn. “We are the quintessential small town, and we take every opportunity to remind people of just that. There was a large demand for a winter market and people don’t mind the outdoor venue. It’s a chance to get those unique gifts and many items are made in Minturn.”

Parents should bring their camera to capture their moment with Santa. The well-known Dickens Carolers and musician Scotty Kabel will be at the market on Dec. 15. And if you’d like to have your gifts wrapped, the Minturn Community Fund will have a wrapping station by donation.

“We also encourage people to visit our storefronts and restaurants if you need to warm up, and if you need a place to stay, we have that, too,” Metteer said. “We’ve grown a lot in the past year, but have managed to keep our charm intact.”

Among the varied merchants, Made in Colorado vendors include Harriet’s Little Soap Company, which sells goat milk soap and organic products; Lunar Designs, which puts their original artwork on kitchen items, greeting cards and various sundries; and gourmet toffee confectioners Toffee de Villa Chanticler. A limited edition 2013 Minturn Mutts Calendar, which features Minturn landmarks with furry friends, will also be available for purchase.
