Winter shows announced at Vilar Performing Arts Center
24 shows announed so far with over 40 more shows yet to be revealed
The ski season is still a few months away but the Vilar Performing Arts Center is already gearing up for a diverse array of performers starting in early December all the way through mid-April.
“We’ve announced 24 winter shows so far, and we still have over 40 shows we anticipate announcing over the coming weeks,” said Cameron Morgan, executive director of the Vilar Performing Arts Center.
A couple of highlights include Mania: The ABBA Tribute on Friday, March 28. The tribute group has played over 3,000 live concerts in 35 countries and had an 80-date-sell-out USA national tour in 2022-23.
“Dirty Dancing: In Concert” will also make a stop at the theater in Beaver Creek during its North American tour. This is the classic film’s first live film-to-concert experience where the film will be shown on the big screen with a live band and singers performing all the hits. Then after the film, the performers will throw a fun after-party that invites you to sing and dance along to all of your favorite songs. “Dirty Dancing: In Concert” takes the stage on Tuesday, March 4.
“We are thrilled to bring back big Broadway with the national tour of the Tony and Grammy-winning production, “Dear Evan Hansen.” This show brings some of the most iconic musical theater songs from the last decade,” Morgan said. “Ballet Hispánico will return to our stage January 21st and each time we’ve had this company they’ve left us simply amazed and energized to get up and dance.”

Family programming includes Champions of Magic featuring thrilling and mind-bending illusions. The team consists of international magicians and illusionists who bring high energy to every show. Champions of Magic will be performing for two nights, Sunday, April 6 and Monday, April 7, and there is special pricing for kids and a discounted rate for a pack of four tickets.
“Additionally, we will host for the first time on the Vilar stage, the full Infamous Stringdusters band. We hosted their trio arrangement during our COVID Residency program, and we’re looking forward to presenting the complete band on back-to-back nights to a full audience,” Morgan said.
December is always a magical time, and the Vilar Performing Arts Center will release holiday show titles in the coming weeks.
“There is something special about going to the theater during the holiday break and we’ll have our beautiful two-story holiday tree in the lobby. This time of year is so magical in the mountains,” Morgan said.
The early part of December will be especially busy with two weekends of ski racing that will bring more shows to the Vilar Center. The Birds of Prey World Cup races at Beaver Creek welcome the men’s and women’s teams from Dec. 6-15.
“This will be the most significant programming we have hosted in early December with headlining artists Big Head Todd, Elephant Revival and Grace Potter,” Morgan said. “Activating the theater during both the men’s and women’s races this year over two weekends is a wonderful opportunity to expand and enhance the Birds of Prey festivities with top-tier entertainment.”
And autumn is not offseason at the Vilar Performing Arts Center. Underground Sound, a concert series dubbed “Love for the Locals,” kicked off last week and brings in up-and-coming bands at an affordable price to the valley and continues through Nov. 14.
