Winter storm warning issued for Vail Valley

EAGLE COUNTY ” A winter storm beginning Thursday evening could drop more than a foot of snow in the Vail Valley by Friday afternoon.

A moist, Pacific storm will move into western Colorado Thursday evening bringing heavy snow and colder air, the National Weather Service says.

Between eight and 16 inches of snow are possible and wind gusts could reach 20 to 40 mphs over ridgetops. Blowing snow may make travel difficult, the National Weather Service says.
